I am Tara Hulett, current, USA Heart of Spirit. I am 43 years old and have been coaching cheer for the past 5 years. I started my own online support group called, Triumph Over Trauma which provides support, advice, and a safe place for Trauma Survivors to share their stories. I happiness in traveling and my solace is at the beach. I love spending time with my family and friends.
Mental Illness has been part of my life since I was a teenager. Bipolar Disorder, depression, anxiety, and PTSD, have all played a major role as I grew up. From physical, sexual and emotional abuse, to watching a teenager my own age at 18 die in my arms in the street, experiencing my own dad’s TBI, and then his sudden death with leukemia. Being on and off so many medications I couldn’t handle. I am ready to take ‘Off The Mask’!
I have struggled with mental illness in different ways for many ways. To be an Off The Mask Model is something proud to me. Something that I can show I, yes I have gone through a lot with these struggles of mental illness. However, when I take ‘Off The Mask’, look at me! Look at how strong I am. I am just like everyone else.
