| I chose to join Off the Mask as someone who has been on both sides of mental health, both working in the field and having my own mental illnesses. Too many times, people have either been surprised that I struggle with mental health because I "don't act like I have depression," or they act like I should hide my illnesses behind a mask and pretend everything is OK. I have always been outspoken about my diagnoses and I will continue to be a voice for those who feel silenced. |
